Desirée Patterson

Desirée Patterson is a self-taught, Vancouver-based artist, working primarily through lens-based media. Her works often feature a stark juxtaposition of nature and nurture. Organic elements and synthetic imagery are thoughtfully fused together in an effort to offer insight into the ultimate disconnection of the contemporary individual to their own natural world.
Recent exhibitions include the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series (semi-finalist), Winsor Gallery, Vancouver; Art on Demand 3.1 (a solo exhibition via the Emerge Program), the Reach Gallery Museum, Abbotsford; and the commission of two public art murals for the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

Works are held in private collections in Canada, the United States, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong.
