Mike McNeeley is a very visual person who enjoys fine arts. He likes to visit art galleries and he creates pottery and sculptures. His photographs have appeared in multiple Hope in Shadows calendars over its thirteen-year history, but he’s been a Megaphone vendor for just a year. “I do a lot of art,” he says, noting he’s only able to take photos on his cellphone outside of the calendar contest. “I do when I see something that’s very different, extremely different. Just something that has a lot of meaning and stands out.” What he likes most about being a Megaphone vendor is the opportunity to get over some of his fears, and the chance to meet new people.
