Artist Talk

Ho Tam: Publishing as Practice

A talk by Ho Tam, Hotam Press

Independent artist Ho Tam discusses his artistic practice as Hotam Press, including more detailed analysis of several selected projects. Hotam Press consists of two book/magazine series—Poser and Hotam—both of which are engineered from conception to completion by sole creator Ho Tam. While Poser is a themed street photography series, Hotam experiments with new ideas in each issue, representing an independent entity that explores form and content.

Ho Tam is a Vancouver-based artist who works in a wide range of mediums, from painting and drawing to video and photography. Since 2010 he has focused on publishing. In addition to Hotam Press, Tam’s other publication projects include Frontline (published in China), 88Books, and xxxZines.

Presented as part of the Vancouver Photo Book Fair.
Venue is not wheelchair accessible.
