London Drugs Printing Grants FAQ

Capture Photography Festival – London Drugs Printing Grants

London Drugs is awarding printing grants totalling $12,500 toward production of Capture Photography Festival participating exhibitions. Grant recipients will each receive between $150 and $1,500, which can be used toward photofinishing at a London Drugs PhotoLab only and may not be used for store purchases or printing not related to the participating exhibition.

How do I apply?

Email info@capturephotofest.com with the subject line “LD Printing Grant”. Include your name, exhibition title, and the number and size of prints you will be making.

You must apply for an LD Printing Grant by Friday, November 3, 2017.

How do I qualify?

Submit your application to participate in the Capture Selected Exhibition Program or Capture Open Exhibition Program by the submission deadline date. As long as your exhibition or event requires standard printing, you are eligible for an LD Printing Grant.

You must apply to participate in Capture by Friday, October 27, 2017.

What kind of printing can I do at a London Drugs PhotoLab? Will I be able to make colour corrections ?

Colour and black and white printing is available at all locations. London Drugs uses state-of-the-art Epson printers. You can choose from a selection of standard as well as fine art papers (including bamboo). The PhotoLab Manager will work with you to ensure the prints are to your satisfaction.

When will I find out if I got a grant?

Grant recipients will be announced in early December.

Can I use my printing grant for another project?

No, the printing grant may be used only toward printing for your Capture exhibition.

What are the terms?

Grant recipients must acknowledge London Drugs PhotoLab for its support of their exhibition printing. Capture will provide a vinyl wall decal (along with a Capture Photography Festival decal).

The artist retains all rights to the images printed. Capture and London Drugs may use the images, as well as photos of you and your images in the PhotoLab, for the purpose of promoting the Festival and London Drugs’ support of the Festival. For example, your name and image may appear in a London Drugs blog or social media post promoting support of Capture. Your image will not appear in any London Drugs promotional material that is not directly linked to Capture. The artist will be credited whenever an image is used.

Can I choose which London Drugs PhotoLab I go to?

Yes, you can decide which London Drugs PhotoLab is most convenient for you. We will make an introduction to the PhotoLab Manager and you can make an appointment to see them and go over your printing needs.

What if my total printing cost exceeds the LD Printing Grant amount?

You will be responsible for printing costs beyond the grant awarded. Our goal is to cover the majority of your printing costs, but also to allow numerous artists to benefit from the program.

I am part of a group exhibition, should I apply individually or should we apply as one group?

This is your choice. However, if there are only one or two images per artists in the show, your chances of receiving a grant will be stronger if you apply as a group. You may be asked to print images at the same PhotoLab.
