Celebrate the opening of our spring exhibitions. A talk with exhibiting artist Rajesh Vora, moderated by guest curator Keith Wallace, starts at 6:30pm followed by a reception at 7:30pm with music by Aanam from Tala Collective. An online tour of Rajesh Vora: Everyday Moments with Wallace in conversation with Satwinder Bains, Director of the South Asian Studies Institute at the University of the Fraser Valley, will be released on April 30.
Rajesh Vora (b.1954) is based in Mumbai and has documented Punjabi sculptural water tanks since 2014 and exhibited photographs of them at PHOTOINK, New Delhi (2016). Vora graduated in 1979 from the National Institute of Design, Amedabad, India. He has been professionally photographing for over thirty years with a focus on architectural related subject matter. His architectural photography work has been published in Domus (India), Architectural Design (India), Dezeen, and ArchDaily. In 2001, 2007, 2010, and 2016 he was commissioned to document architecture projects with social relevance in India and Bangladesh for The Aga Khan Award for Architecture, Geneva. His photographs have been exhibited in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Lille, France, Newark Museum, New Jersey, PHOTOINK, New Delhi, Jaipur Photo Fest, and India International Centre, New Delhi.

Independent curator Keith Wallace (b.1951) has been a curator of contemporary art since 1979. He has organized exhibitions for the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver Art Gallery, National Gallery of Canada, The Power Plant, and the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, University of British Columbia, where he was Associate Director/Curator from 2005 to 2008 and 2012 to 2015. From 2004 to 2020, he was Editor-in-Chief of Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art that is edited and designed in Vancouver and published in Taipei, Taiwan.
