Matthew Plexman has been fascinated with man’s relationship with nature for most of his life, often seeking remote areas where human constructs intersect wilderness to build his body of work.
He has been working with medium- and large-format photography for over 30 years. Over the past several years, he has found that his subject matter is best captured with multiple captures stitched into wide-angle panoramics, mimicking the perception of human vision.
Plexman attended Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, Photographic Arts, graduating in 1980 with Bachelor of Applied Arts in Photography. With his partner, he owns a studio in Toronto set up as a flexible space, in part as an event space and art gallery.
