Noah Friebel (b. Vancouver, 1995) graduated with a BFA in photography in 2018.
Friebel is a visual artist working primarily with photography and video. He is interested in exploring the material-conceptual intersections of these mediums as well as the ways in which a discursive incorporation of sculpture and installation can come to inform technical images and the experience of the Picture. His methodology fluctuates between depictive and conceptual strategies, while his works frequently engage in motifs of absorption, entropy, and the everyday. While a multitude of subject matters and themes are explored and exposited throughout his work, the tableau, by pictorial and material means, is incessantly perused.
Friebel has exhibited in group shows in Vancouver including the 2018 Lind Prize Show at The Polygon Gallery.
