Megan A. Smetzer: Reframing Photography

Early settler photography was used to frame and contain Indigenous people and their cultural practices to the past. Historical and contemporary Indigenous photographers have used this technology to reframe and challenge settler romanticization in favour of powerful narratives of survival. A lecture by art historian Megan A. Smetzer.
