Announcing Capture’s 2026 Selected Exhibitions Jury

Capture is pleased to announce the jury that will be evaluating submissions for the 2026 Selected Exhibitions Program. In addition to Emmy Lee Wall, Capture’s Executive Director and Chief Curator, the 2026 Capture Selected Exhibitions Jury includes:

Rui Mateus Amaral

Artistic Director, Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Toronto

Rui Mateus Amaral is the Artistic Director of MOCA Toronto, where he has curated exhibitions by Alex Da Corte, Phyllida Barlow, Carlos Bunga, among others. In 2022, he organized Summer, Felix Gonzalez-Torres’ first solo exhibition in Canada, and in 2021, he co-founded MOCA’s triennial, Greater Toronto Art. From 2011 to 2020, Mateus Amaral directed the program at Scrap Metal, a private exhibition space, working with artists such as Eduardo Basualdo, Eric N. Mack, and Paul P. His writing has appeared in Artforum, and in 2022 he co-published Garden Court, Scott Burton.

Rebecca Bair

Artist and Assistant Professor, Emily Carr University of Art and Design

Rebecca (Becky) Bair is an interdisciplinary artist based in Vancouver – the traditional and ancestral territories of the Coast Salish peoples. She has a BFA from The University of Ottawa and is a graduate of the Master of Fine Arts program at Emily Carr University of Art and Design (2020) where she was awarded the Governor Generals Gold Medal. She is a Portfolio Prize recipient (2022), was longlisted for the Scotiabank New Generation Photography Award (2018 and 2019) and was shortlisted for the Philip B. Lind Emerging Artist Prize (2019 and 2020). She has been in group shows including Where Do We Go From Here?, Vancouver Art Gallery (2020); Together / Apart, Susan Hobbs Gallery in Toronto (2022); un/tangling, un/covering, un/doing, Surrey Art Gallery (2024) and Care / Condition / Control, 601Artspace in New York City (2025). Her solo exhibitions include Rebecca Bair: Deep Conditioning, West Vancouver Art Museum (2022); Rebecca Bair: Where The Light Meets My Shoulder, Art Gallery at Evergreen (2023) and Rebecca Bair: In Self-Regard, W Projects (2024). Her work has additionally been featured in Canadian Art Magazine, and NUVO magazine and she is the co-founder of The Black Arts Centre, a Black owned and operated artist-run centre and community space in Surrey.

Chief Curator, TD Bank Art & Heritage Collections

Stuart Keeler brings over twenty-five years of experience in supporting the creativity and imagination of artists, by presenting groundbreaking and thoughtful programs of contemporary art, craft, design, heritage and architecture with the goal of inspiring the radical imagination of audiences. Expertise includes American and Canadian contemporary art, museums and collections leadership. As a Historian of Art, Stuart’s academic research areas in contemporary art specializations are public space and social practice, humour and empathy and the power of artists to create social change.
