Angie Rico is a writer and media artist who has recently completed her undergraduate studies at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She holds a BFA in Film, Video and Integrated Media. Originally from Mexico, she currently resides on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil Waututh First Nations. Her practice seeks to investigate instances of identity fragmentation, often dealing with an attempt to decode a sense of identity for that which exists in the transitional/liminal. Interested in the intersections of language between writing and filmmaking, she oscillates between the two forms through a transgressive and playful mode of documentation.
