Anne Koizumi is an independent filmmaker based in Montreal. In 2006, she participated in the National Film Board of Canada’s Hothouse 3 where she directed her first professional film, A Prairie Story. Her films have been screened nationally and internationally, including at Hot Docs, the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), Annecy, SFFILM, Slamdance, and the London International Animation Festival. Her most recent film, In the Shadow of the Pines, won the Best Animated Short Award at SFFILM, as well as Best Narrative Short and Best Canadian Short at OIAF 2020. She is currently developing her new short film, Le Magnifique, and co-writing the animated feature Clay Footed Giants, adapted from the acclaimed graphic novel.
