Christina Leslie

Christina Leslie (b. 1983) was born in Toronto, ON. She earned her BFA in at OCADU, Toronto (2006). She is presently pursuing her MFA at SCAD in GA, USA. Her photographs have been featured at the following institutions: The National Film Board in Toronto, ON (2008), Oakland University in Detroit, MI (2008), Pier 21 in Halifax, NS (2010 and 2013), Famu in Prague, Czech Republic (2009), Real Artways, Hartford, CT (2009), The Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, ON (2010), The Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, ON (2010), The Art Gallery of Windsor in Windsor, ON (2017), The Glasgow Gallery of Photography in Glasgow, Scotland (2019),The Edmonton Radisson Airport Hotel, Edmonton, AB (2019), RAWartist Showcase, Toronto, ON (2019), Caribbean Art Fair in Jamaica (2020). In 2010, Leslie was a panelist speaker at the SPE conference in Philadelphia. In 2011, a panelist for the Position as Desired symposium at the R.O.M. Her photographs have been featured in an extensive list of publications; most recently in the UK magazine MURZE Issue four and Issue Ten (2019 and 2020). In April 2020, she is part of Capture Photography Festival, Vancouver and will have two solo exhibitions in one as part of the Scotiabank Contact Festival, Toronto. Much of her photographic practice revolves around the themes of identity, immigration, issues of marginalization, memory, race and her West-Indian heritage.
