Colin Miner completed a PhD at Western University, London, ON, and holds an MFA from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

Recent distinctions include the Barbara Spohr Memorial Award for the Development of Contemporary Photography and the Roloff Beny Foundation Award for Photography.
