David Crompton is a visual artist and visual designer based in Vancouver. Since graduating from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Vancouver, in 1999, his work has been screened and exhibited internationally at galleries, in festivals, and on media channels including SXSW, Austin, Texas; Transmediale, Berlin; the European Media Art Festival, Osnabrück, Germany; and CBC Radio 3. Crompton’s work is included in the collection of the Marshall McLuhan Salon at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin and his projects have been awarded grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Arts Council. In 2013, he published his first collection of photographs, Where I’m From. A second publication, Common, was released in late 2014 followed by a solo exhibition of the work in early 2015.
