Julia Lum is an assistant professor of art history at Scripps College (Claremont, California) and an independent curator whose transhistorical research focuses on the visual and material legacies of British colonialism in the Pacific Northwest and Oceania. Her writings have been published in Eighteenth-Century Studies, Journal18, British Art Studies, Visual Studies, and Shift. She earned a PhD from Yale University and postdoctoral fellowships from the Getty Foundation / ACLS and the University of Toronto.
