Emily Sylman holds a BFA in Photography Studies (2017) and is currently working towards an MA in Photography Preservation and Collections Management, both from Ryerson University. She works as a graduate teaching assistant and has prior experience in photography production and gallery administration roles. Emily has contributed to a variety of publications and exhibitions in Toronto including a recent feature in Feels Zine and co-curatorial work for an upcoming exhibition of World War II press photography at the Ryerson Image Centre. Her research interests include photography projects that use fiction to critique authoritative assumptions about archival records and museum artifacts, and historical photographs created by or collected by women.
