Jade Duncanson (b. 1998) is a visual artist based in “Vancouver” on the unceded territories of the Squamish, Musqueum and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Her practice examines the moments, the people and the love that lead to healing within family structures; exploring the visualization of tenderness and pain that exist within memories of familial trauma. As a half Chinese and half Jamaican female, she includes intentional representation of both of her cultures to encourage discussion around the inherent tension that exists between Black and Chinese bodies.
