Jessica Bushey holds a PhD in Library, Archival and Information Studies from the University of British Columbia (2016). She has curated physical and online exhibitions for the North Vancouver Museum & Archives (2018- present) and for the United Nations secretariat of Climate Change at the Richard Kinley Gallery in Bonn, Germany (2018). Her curatorial work focuses on exploring different topics and artists through archival media, including but not limited to photographs, moving images and oral histories. Jessica represents the NVMA on the City of North Vancouver Mayor Linda Buchanan’s special committee, the Social Resiliency Collective and is leading the NorthVanStories quick start action project, which is collecting personal stories of north shore residents during the pandemic. Jessica Bushey is the recipient of a Social Sciences in Humanities Research Council Doctoral Award (2016-2018) and a SSHRC Storyteller top 25 Finalist (2015).
