Joe Feddersen (b. 1953, Omak, WA) emerged in the 1980s as a printmaker. While still grounded in printmaking, his repertoire has expanded to painting, photography, large-scale multi-media installations, collage, glass, and basket weaving— in which he explores his experiences in the world he inhabits as a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes, a lineage grounded in historic northern Plateau territory. Earth, Water, Sky, a major retrospective featuring 120 works spanning his 45-year career, opened at the Museum of Art and Culture in Spokane, WA, in 2024. That same year, Feddersen received a Washington State Governor’s Arts and Heritage Award.
