Kurt Menzie moved to the Downtown Eastside at the “beginning of the century, because I was homeless and I needed a cheap place to live,” he says. He has been selling Megaphone’s magazine and calendar for the last six years. But when he isn’t vending in Vancouver, you can find him working with temporary agencies, with the Binners’ Project, or “breaking his back” on construction sites. Menzie is also handy with computers and repairs electronics for his friends.
