Mariane Bourcheix-Laporte is an interdisciplinary artist and independent curator based in Vancouver. She completed an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, and BFA in Studio Arts at Concordia University, Montreal. Her artistic and curatorial projects have been shown throughout Canada and, more recently, internationally as part of the Deformes Performance Bienal (Valdivia, Chile). In her curatorial practice, she seeks to develop collaborative relationships with artists, community groups, and institutional partners in the process of expanding the limits of the gallery as exhibition space. Recent curatorial projects include Collective Walks/Spaces of Contestation, a series of talks, performances, public actions, publications, and an exhibition presented through UNIT/PITT Projects, and a curated digital portfolio for Decoy Magazine.
