Working in the cultural heritage sector for over 15 years, Michelle Taylor is passionate about exploring Canadian identity, community engagement, and cultural memory through a framework of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Taylor holds a BA (Hons) in History and a Master of Museum Studies. She is currently the Curator for the City of New Westminster where she facilitates conversations with its diverse communities through engagement with its collections, exhibitions, and intangible heritage.
Taylor is a member of the BC Museums Association Council serving on the IBPOC Museum Professionals Network advisory group and the Professional Development & Education Committee. She has worked and volunteered for a variety of museums across British Columbia and has served on the City of Coquitlam Multiculturalism Advisory Committee and the Board of Directors for the Port Coquitlam Heritage and Cultural Society.
