Parumveer Walia (b. Chandigarh, India) is a lens-based artist working in photography and expanded media to examine Queerness as subject, aesthetic, and culture. Shifting between and across formal and conceptual boundaries, Walia’s work is interested in the Third Space and coalesces historical research and archives with his own experience to produce maps of a larger cultural terrain. Walia is a finalist for the upcoming Philip B. Lind prize, the largest award for emerging artists in Canada. Recent exhibitions include Pause at Gallery 881 (Canada), BINNAR Arts Festival (Portugal) and Paxos Biennale (Greece).
