Robert Kenney lives and works in Vancouver.

Drawn to a simpler rendering of the ideas of beauty, inner clarity, and feminine power, Kenney has stepped back to photography’s roots by creating images on glass plate using the wet plate collodion process.

The limitations of the process allow the context of the images to express themselves in several levels of meaning, while giving the work depth,   visual rawness, and a haunting beauty.

The work suggests an authenticity of awareness and the suspension of time.
