Ryan Foerster is a Canadian artist currently working in New York, where he is represented by CLEARING Gallery. His multimedia practice involves abstract, camera-less photography. Foerster allows chance and temporality to co-create his artworks by exposing photosensitive paper to natural elements such as light, wind, and water. Foerster was the recipient of the 2013 Artadia NADA Prize, and his work has recently been featured in exhibitions across North America and Europe. Solo exhibitions include his 2014 show at CLEARING Gallery, New York; Want and Digest (2013) at ribordy contemporary, Geneva, Switzerland; and One-Two-Three-Four (2011), Art Metropole, Toronto. Foerster has also produced two photobooks, both published by Hassla Books.
