Now based in Victoria, BC, Ted Grant is recognized as one of Canada’s most accomplished and prolific photojournalists with 280,000 images in the National Archives of Canada and 100,000 images in the National Gallery of Canada’s Museum of Contemporary Photography in Ottawa. These images comprise the largest collection by an individual photographer in the history of Canada. Grant was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communications in 1999; an Honorary Doctorate of Laws degree by the University of Victoria in 2008; and the Order of Canada in 2016.
