Tris Vonna-Michell is an artist based in Stockholm, Sweden, and Southend-on-Sea, UK. He graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2005 and studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main (2005–07). His recent solo exhibitions include Society Acts—The Moderna Exhibition Moderna Museet, Malmö, 2014; VOX Centre de l’image contemporaine, Montreall, 2014; Pebble Dash, T293, Rome, 2013; and Metro Pictures, New York, 2011. His work has also been featured in numerous group exhibitions, including Un Nouveau Festival, Centre Pompidou, Paris, 2014; Unrest of Form. Imagining the Political Subject, Secession, Vienna, 2013; The Butterfly lmage, MUDAM, Luxembourg, 2013; Reactivation, 9th Shanghai Biennial, 2012; Altermodern: Tate Triennial, Tate Britain, London, 2009; and Time Crevasse, Yokohama Triennial, 2008. Vonna-Michell was awarded the Baloise Art Prize and ars viva prize for Fine Arts in 2008 and was shortlisted for the 2014 Turner Prize.
