Zhengdong (Benny) Xu holds a BBA from Simon Fraser University. In 2014, he curated his first exhibition “The Phenotypic Traits of Facets” at Avenue Gallery with Canadian artist Yixin Tong and Chinese artist Shen Li. He is the founder and director of Afternoon Projects. Since 2020, he has curated group show Baby (2020), solo exhibition Wrought Bundle (2021), Boreal Chorus in Crossfade (2021), Secretly Living (2021), and Rifts, hovels, a sighing tide (2021). Xu currently lives and works on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations (Vancouver, BC).
