Zinnia Naqvi is a Montreal and Toronto-based artist who holds a BFA in Photography from Ryerson University (2014) and an MFA from Concordia University (2020). Her films have been screened at festivals worldwide, including the Le Festival International du Film sur l’Art (Le FIFA) Montreal (2019); 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art, Toronto (2017); Uppsala International Short Film Festival (2015) and the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival (2015). Her work has also appeared in solo exhibitions at Ryerson Artspace, Toronto (2016); Trinity Square Video, Toronto (2016) and Ryerson Image Centre (2015); and in group exhibitions at Forest City Gallery, London (2019); Hamilton Artists Inc. (2019); Kamloops Art Gallery (2018); 8-11, Toronto (2017); Karachi Biennale (2017); Abron’s Art Centre, New York City (2017); and Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires (2015), amongst others. In 2019 her work appeared in a major public art initiative of the Peel Art Gallery Museum + Archives in Brampton and in 2017 she was an Artist in Residence with EMILIA-AMALIA Working Group at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto. She is the recipient of the 2019 New Generation Photography Award.
