Richmond Art Gallery Curator Zoë Chan lives in Vancouver on the ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Sel̓íl̓witulh Nations. Her curatorial projects have delved into a range of subject matter including collaborative documentary, storytelling, youth, and food. She has curated exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Trinity Square Video, Optica, Foreman Art Gallery, MSVU Art Gallery, and the MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels). Her writing has been published in C Magazine, esse arts + opinions, and Momus, among others. She received the Canada Council for the Arts’ Joan Lowndes Award in recognition of excellence in critical and curatorial writing in 2015. She holds a Master’s of Arts in art history from Concordia University.
