Theo Terry’s work Pears with American Tulipwood sits somewhere between photograph and sculpture for me–I love the three-dimensional element of his work that brings the work forward into the space. The composition of the pears on the marble with the tulipwood fabric recalls so many art historical still life precedents, while the orange background and cartoonish frame bring a contemporary energy to the piece.
