Closing Message from Emmy Lee Wall, Executive Director

Today marks the close of the 2022 Festival and it has been a true pleasure to see many of you live and in person after so long. We hope you have found our exhibitions, public art installations, talks, events, and catalogue featuring local, national, and international artists compelling and engaging. Capture serves as a platform to bring together diverse artists, narratives, issues, examples of lens-based work, and modes of presentation and we hope that through this convergence we incite important dialogues and explore the possibilities the medium presents.

Capture is truly a collaborative effort between artists, curators, writers, cultural workers, galleries, art organizations, donors, and sponsors and we are deeply grateful to everyone for their enthusiastic participation. I especially want to acknowledge our longstanding relationship with TD Bank, Capture’s Presenting Sponsor, whose support is the foundation of everything we do.

Our Board and staff make Capture happen annually and I am so thankful for everyone’s commitment and positivity through some hectic times! I am truly amazed by what we are able to accomplish with a small team and everyone’s contribution is critical to realizing the Festival.

Finally, to the artists who have participated in the 2022 Festival – thank you for sharing your work with us. Your ideas and vision are the reason Capture happens annually and we are all indebted to you.

Sincerely,

Emmy Lee WallExecutive Director
