Photo Walk

An Urban Wander

ADMISSION
Free

Booking information will be available here from March 20–28.

View the exhibition An Urban Wander online here or in person at Beau Photo Gallery to see the city through the eyes of different photographers, both film and digital, from this event on April 10th, 2021.

Stroll through the streets like the flâneurs of 19th century Paris as an active observer using your camera to record impressions as you encounter them. To stroll is to deliberately move through and be surrounded by the architecture and inhabitants of the city, but with no specific intention. In this case however, you will interact with your surroundings through your camera.

Strolling as a small group in the South Granville area adds another dimension to the urban experience as you exchange ideas with others and move in unexpected directions, opening new doors to the city and offering inspiration.

Meet us at Beau Photo Supplies and try lenses from the rental department on a digital wander, or a roll of Ilford film for your camera on an analogue stroll. Each wanderer will have one image selected for printing to be displayed in an exhibition at the shop.

Registration is required to attend. Registration will open from Saturday, March 20 to Sunday, March 28.

Beau Photo will select 10 participants for the digital group and 10 for the film group by lottery. Walks will follow all provincial health orders in place at the time of the event and the format of the walk may need to be adjusted according to the current guidelines.

An exhibition connected to this event will be on view at Beau Photo from April 24 to May 15, 2021.
