Imagery installed, reflects upon organic and inorganic objects found along the foreshore of the Salish Sea, intentionally arranged within fluid landscapes, compelling the viewer to consider the intersection of the climate crisis with portrait and landscape photography, subject/object relationships and material culture.
Durant’s art and research practice is grounded in sustainability, social and climate justice. She will discuss the photography and video installed within the gallery, considering the abject beauty reflected in the works.
Participants are invited to engage in a dialogue about human impact on the natural world.
