Join fine art photographer Dionysios Psychas and other enthusiastic photographers on a fun photo walk to explore some of his favourite alleys in downtown Vancouver. All cameras are welcome!
Alleys are great subjects for photography, because — unlike the “public”, alluring street side — they are public spaces where we can view the “private” side of houses and shops, which are practical, unpretentious, and style is secondary. These rear spaces can be coolly disorganized, patched up, and justifiably messy. They don’t include seemingly “beautiful” things, but they do offer interesting things and scenes to capture with our cameras.
About the organizer
Dionysios is a fine art photographer who creates contemplative images. Inspired by abstract expressionist painting, and influenced by graphic design and architecture, he believes form can carry meaning with which to make meaningful photographs. He also has been leading photo walks, and architectural photo tours, and has shown local photographers cool spots of the city to explore since 2012.
