Street16 is dedicated to the art of street photography. We believe that every corner of the city tells a unique story waiting to be captured through the lens. Created by Chris McCann and Jake Wong, we foster a passion for street photography and urban exploration by providing photo walks and workshops.
Chris McCann, one of the co-founders of the Vancouver Street Photography Collective (VanSPC), has been actively contributing her work to various exhibitions. Her photography has been featured not only in VanSPC exhibits but also at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography. Specializing in fine art street photography, Chris employs techniques such as intentional camera movement (ICM), motion blur, and double exposures to capture the fluidity and movement present in everyday urban life. Chris’ work reflects her dedication to exploring different avenues within street photography, contributing her own distinctive perspective to the art form.
Jake Wong is a Vancouver born street photographer raised in the Chinatown/Strathcona neighbourhood. Since 2018 he’s been photographing the streets of Vancouver employing various street styles/techniques which include night and abstract. He believes in making street photography fun, simple and effective. He is on the Board of the Vancouver Street Photography Collective and his works have been displayed in various local exhibits and contests.
