“See it, Like it, Take it” is a pop-up street photography event that introduces the public to the genre in an accessible way. Installed outdoors rather than in a traditional gallery, the work returns images of everyday urban life to the street, where they can be encountered casually and without formality.

The photographs focus on small, often overlooked moments, gestures, light, and movement, encouraging viewers to slow down and look more closely at their surroundings. Visitors are invited to mark their favourites and, uniquely, to take a photograph home. As images are removed, the exhibition gradually changes, reflecting the instincts of the public.

The aim is simple: to demystify street photography and create a shared, open encounter with the visual life of the city.

Location: The Pink Alley (Alley-Oop) on Granville St., between Pender and Hastings.

The Vancouver Street Photography Collective (VanSPC) is a non-profit society bringing together photographers from Vancouver and beyond to create and share diverse street photography approaches and aesthetics. We are founded on the principles of exploration, engagement, and inclusion. For us, street photography is a way to interact with the world, the everyday and the spectacular, and capturing those interactions through photography that is grounded in the streets, and at the same time, evocative of our individual artistic visions. We strive to offer a welcoming space to learn about, practice and display street photography through meet-ups, exhibitions, publications and simply walking the streets to discover new moments of inspiration.
