Deanna Flinn’s photography is an attempt to use colour, texture, and form to create a visually stimulating image. It is also a way to experiment with spontaneity and chance. Taking inspiration from concepts such as ordered complexity and emergence, whereby simple base structures built up by following a set of predetermined rules, self-organizing as they go. Flinn translates this in her art by building off of the random, using a predetermined technique and range of colours.
