In Point de Fusion, Desirée Patterson presents an imagined series of melting landscapes inspired by the century-scale rise of the earth’s average temperatures. The artworks aim to address climate change caused in part to ongoing dependency and consumption of fossil fuels. The abstractions presented seek to further awareness of the urgent action required by nations to alter the destructive progress.
The artworks are accompanied by didactic panels that offer examples of and resources for sustainable living practices accessible to the average urban individual.
