Gabor Gasztonyi Gallery is located in a heritage storefront constructed in the 1920s. The building has a long history from its earliest beginnings as a China shop. Today it is both a photography studio and art gallery featuring artists such as Gabor Gasztonyi, Judith Copland, Shelley Rothenburger, Peter Czimar, and others.
The venue is over 1,200 square feet with a gallery space of approximately 600 square feet. The interior features hinged walls and modern gallery lighting. The gallery is clearly visible from the street and its location is adjacent to the Brow of the Hill neighbourhood, an exciting part of the ever-growing and diverse artistic community of New Westminster.
The gallery’s mandate is to display artwork and imagery that the staff personally enjoys, with an emphasis on emerging artists, as well as the group of represented artists. The gallery also hosts group exhibitions of local emerging artists based in the City of New Westminster.
