Skipper Tom McClure discards the innards of gutted fish back into the sea on board his fishing trawler Harvest Reaper off the coast of Newlyin, south west of England on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017. Coastal towns in U.K. were some of the areas most in favour of leaving the EU in the 2016 referendum. According to the Executive Chairman of The National Federation of Fishermen’s Organizations Barrie Deas, EU vessels were fishing four times more than U.K. vessels. Fishermen felt they needed to ‘take control back’ of their waters. With pulling out of the EU, Britain will be terminating historic rights enjoyed by France, Belgium, Germany, Ireland and Netherlands that predates the U.K.’s own entry into the EU. Pendulum Gallery

The Pendulum Gallery was created under the City of Vancouver’s amenity bonus program as a legacy to enhance the experience of living and working in the downtown core. Opened in 1986, the light-infused, seven-storey, soaring glass-covered atrium hall is a dramatic setting for art exhibitions.

The gallery both curates and develops its own exhibitions and considers proposals from groups and individuals in the region. Its mandate is to organize and host exhibitions within a wide range of art and design disciplines—public art projects, historical photos, fashion, graphic, architecture, and urban design. Pendulum is also committed to exhibiting artists who may not have extensive exhibition histories and to provide opportunities to showcase special projects by artists that fall outside of their normal professional or artistic practices.
