Unit 302 was created in an ex-commercial space to provide emerging and mid-career artists a space to experiment, exhibit, and produce work. Housed on the fourth floor of a heritage building, the site has a longstanding history with Vancouver, starting in the 1800s. Re-constructed as the Edward Hotel in 1902, the building has since shifted across many roles and ownerships, and stands testimony to the flux of downtown vancouver and gastown. Situated right across the Vancouver Steam Clock, the space witnesses the influx of tourists and locals alike. Unit 302 is a new experiment fostering experimental artistry and opening new possibilities for site-specific curation.
