VABF Studio has a mandate to foster access to and deepen engagement with publication as an artistic medium and a social practice and to create a critical discourse around publication that is inclusive to dialogues in the visual arts, literary arts, and graphic design (disciplines that tend to intersect in publishing).
VABF Studio seeks to act as a platform, laboratory, and experimental space in which new understandings of publication and its historical and contemporary contexts may arise. Particularly, VABF advocates for emerging Canadian artists, mainly those in British Columbia.
