Capture is pleased to announce that Kate Henderson has been appointed Director of Capture Photography Festival beginning with the 2019 Festival. Kate joined Capture in 2017 as Program Manager and is now taking over the reins as Festival Director.
Kate Henderson has been involved in the Vancouver art community for over 16 years holding curatorial, programming, and teaching positions at Vancouver Art Gallery, Arts Umbrella, University of British Columbia, and Emily Carr University. Kate is committed to emergent art practices and for the past five years has served on the Board of Directors at Access Gallery, an artist-run centre in Chinatown, where she was President of the Board. In addition to her work and advocacy for the non-profit and educational realm, she is also an artist with a focus on photography, and most recently has been producing scanned photographic collages and assemblages that investigate the female body and its complex relationship with digital interfaces, film, and the apparatus. Kate holds an MFA in Visual Art from the University of British Columbia and a BFA with a Major in Photography from Emily Carr University.
Please join us in congratulating Kate!
