Capture’s 2022 Artist Edition by Sara Cwynar is based on her commission for the 2022 BC Hydro Dal Grauer Substation Public Art Project.
Sara Cwynar (Vancouver, BC, Canada, 1985) currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her work in photography, video and installation involves a constant archiving and re-presentation of collected visual materials. She explores the way that images morph, accumulate, endure and change in meaning and value over time, and the effect this has on a collective worldview. Cwynar has exhibited her work at MoMA PS1 in New York, Malmö Konsthall in Sweden, and Fondazione Prada in Milan, Italy and her works are in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art, New York; MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt, and Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto. She most recently finished a commissioned performance for the 2021 Performa Biennial in New York City. She is represented by Foxy Production, New York, Cooper Cole, Toronto, and the Approach, London.
