Boom and Bust

Boom and Bust is a ten-second video installation on Lamar Advertising’s LCD screens at all Canada Line and SkyTrain Stations across the Lower Mainland.

Presented by Capture Photography Festival and sponsored in part by Lamar Advertising.

Boom and Bust examines the fragility of interconnected global market systems and their relationship to the balance of opposing forces by literally bursting the bubble. Boom and Bust, as you see it here, is an edited sample from an upcoming collaborative exhibition between Christian Nicolay and Ya-chu Kang comprised of video installation, sculpture, and drawing that will show at Art Experience Gallery in Hong Kong, November 2–December 31, 2013.

Boom and Bust was also selected by the City of Vancouver to be featured as part of the Vancouver Live! Video Screen Advertising Program. It can be viewed at the intersection of Robson and Granville.
