Evann Siebens makes media about movement. She has exhibited her short films and media installations at galleries such as Eyebeam, New York, and Centre Pompidou, Paris, while her documentaries have been screened at MoMA, New York, and on PBS. A former dancer with the National Ballet of Canada and Bonn Ballet, Siebens graduated from New York University. Now based in Vancouver, she co-curated containR during the 2010 Winter Olympics. She has participated in residencies at the Banff Centre and ACME/UK with Keith Doyle. Recent exhibitions include MediaArtLab/Urban Screen, Russia; Wil Aballe Art Projects, Gallery 295, Winsor Gallery, and Thru the Trapdoor, Vancouver. Siebens also recently had a solo exhibit at dc3 Art Projects, Edmonton, and won the ID/Identities Istanbul Best Video Prize. She is exhibiting at Wil Aballe Art Projects in March–April 2015. Upcoming projects include ISEA 2015—21st International Symposium on Electronic Art and a commission from Paul Wong Projects, entitled MIMMiC.
