Anise Makvandi is an interdisciplinary artist. Her work is motivated by the phenomenon of the everyday and the limitations in both expressing and representing experiences of the human. Much of her process is an active exploration of the parallels of living and sentient expression. Like life, the work of art births itself, every piece unravelling organically. The work becomes a continuum of compilations, continually altering, shifting, reiterating, regenerating. She explores and seeks to negotiate the tension between the affected hyperstimulated contemporary individual and their simultaneous connectivity to a realm outside of this intricate system. She holds a BA in Art History and Philosophy from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.
