Don Syroishka holds a BFA in Painting from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. He pursues a professional career in the field of counselling therapy and continues to make art.
For the last several years, Syroishka has focused on photo-based work, which tends to be organized by a fairly strong conceptual framework. Much of this work seeks to uncover traces of the broadly historical in the quotidian and personal and often engages with questions surrounding the historical imperatives of existential male agency.
