The pastoral tradition in the arts portrays an idealized picture of rural life: one of innocence and serenity, standing in direct contrast to the perceived corruption and hollow sophistication of the urban. The photographs of West Coast Pastoral are selections from an ongoing project, one that attempts to capture a yearning for the pastoral that is specific to the culture of the west coast of British Columbia.
